Luncheon to feature acclaimed author, municipal government leader

Woodbridge, Va. – Jason Parsons, Executive Director of Keep Prince William Beautiful, and Debbie Jones, CEO of the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, announced today plans to jointly host an event featuring James C. Hunt, an internationally recognized author and expert on local and municipal government.

The event is being billed as “Keeping Prince William Beautiful: How to Save the Environment (and Money, Too)” and will take place Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Old Hickory Golf Club at 11:30 a.m.

James C. Hunt is the author of Bottom Line Green: How America’s Cities are Saving the Environment (and Money, Too) and the newly released The Amazing City: Seven Steps to an Amazing City, in which Mr. Hunt identifies Green Awareness as a critical step to high performing local governments. Mr. Hunt is a past president of the National League of Cities, where he became known for creating the National Partnership for Inclusive Communities. Mr. Hunt has also been named Municipal Leader of the Year by American City and County Magazine. Currently, Mr. Hunt serves as CEO of Amazing Cities, a speaking and consulting company dedicated to excellence in local government.

“We are delighted to welcome Jim Hunt to Prince William County to discuss ways we can all help sustain and protect our environment and grow the economy. It goes to the heart of what we are about – keeping Prince William Beautiful not just for the sake of keeping it beautiful, but so our residents can do beautiful things,” Parsons said, “When the park is clean, kids are more likely to go. We know home values, for instance, can be up to 7% more in neighborhoods free of litter. Environmental action and economic growth are not mutually exclusive goals.”

Hunt will deliver the luncheon’s keynote speech prior to a book signing for The Amazing City: Seven Steps to an Amazing City.

Table sponsorships and exhibition booths are available as well as individual tickets for Chamber members and the general public.
