Storm Drain Program:
What is a storm drain? What is the significance of it being environmental? A storm drain is a system that primarily helps underground pipes with rainwater from the street. Water that is on the street is flowing which causes a storm drain not to be treated. It does have chemicals as well as fertilizers, pet waste, and litter. This is how polluted waters happen that eventually over time causes harm to rivers, streams, and even eventually the Chesapeake Bay. With harmful water not being able to swim, bathe, or drink can cause environmental issues. How can you help maintain a safe environment? Be aware of storm drains and take action in your local neighborhoods. Do not dispose household wastes in the street. Become apart of our Program with proper training and tool kit from KPWB.
