Keep Prince William Beautiful Announces Bus Stop Litter Challenge
Woodbridge, Virginia – Keep Prince William Beautiful (KPWB) has announced that they will be hosting a Bus Stop Litter Contest for students in grades 9-12 in schools in Prince William County. This contest challenges students to submit proposals for a program confronting the large amount of trash surrounding public bus stops. While KPWB is piloting an Adopt-a-Bus Stop program this spring, students are asked to submit proposals with the intent of having the best possible program implemented.
All high school students in Prince William County are encouraged to enter. Proposals can be submitted either by teams or individuals and must be submitted to KPWB by April 30th. Students are encouraged to visit www.kpwb.org for competition information. Entries will be judged by representatives of local businesses and organizations, including the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) and Supervisor Frank J. Principi’s office. There will be a $500 cash prize and PRTC prize pack awarded to the winning individual or group.
KPWB strives to educate and inform the students about keeping the environment beautiful. It’s through a competition such as this that KPWB is able to reach out to the youth of today for new ideas and perspectives on how best to serve the community. This continuing partnership with students in Prince William ensures that Prince William County is a clean, beautiful, sustainable environment for future generations.
