KPWB went on their quarterly Litter Survey on December 8th. Surveyors went out to examine areas in Prince William County which contained litter and areas which did not contain litter. The results of the survey are used by Prince William County government and national litter organizations to determine the effectiveness of local litter control programs and the cost of litter to the environment. The Litter survey helps the Prince William County community see which areas in our community need to be beautified to keep our county from suffering from the negative effects of litter. Litter if left to accumulate can cause toxins to form in our soil and can go into our storm drains and contaminate our drinking water. If you’re interested in participating in KPWB’s Litter Survey to assist in keeping our community free of litter please visit our website for more information https://kpwb.org/litter-survey/.
